Pet Urns with a Collar: Keeping Their Own Collar Close

Updated November 2026.

White Doe’s collar urn keeps a dog or cat’s ashes and their own collar together, with a photograph-based portrait in chalk-white cast stone. The lid lifts off; the collar and tags shown in gallery photographs are display examples, not supplied accessories.

Why choose an urn that holds their collar?

A collar is a familiar object in its own right: the everyday colour, worn fabric or tag can bring back a different memory from a photograph. This design puts that existing object alongside the portrait rather than asking a new decoration to stand in for it. It may suit you if the collar already feels like the centre of the memorial. If you would rather keep the collar separately, a portrait head urn is another way to focus on the face without making collar fit part of the choice.

How to measure the collar for the urn

The product asks for the collar’s fastened circumference and strap width. Measure the collar in the fastened position you intend to display, and record the width separately. Do not send just the pet’s weight and assume that determines the collar fit: the size of the ashes container and the fit of the collar are different questions. If you are unsure what part to measure, ask before ordering. The listing does not give a universal minimum or maximum collar size, so this guide cannot promise that every collar will fit.

Photographs for a dog or cat portrait

Supply up to five clear photographs together with your pet’s weight. Choose images that show the head and familiar expression, including a front and side view where possible. If the collar hides the lower part of the face in one photograph, include another that shows those features clearly. A digital preview comes before making the portrait. The dog example shown here demonstrates collar display; the product description also explicitly includes cats. It is not evidence of a rabbit or other-pet version.

Choosing the ashes capacity separately

The pet-weight guide is up to 15 kg for Small–Medium, up to 30 kg for Medium–Large and up to 40 kg for Extra Large. Those bands are a choosing guide, not measured volumes. Your crematorium can tell you the actual volume of ashes; share that before ordering so the chosen size can be confirmed. Do not multiply outer measurements to estimate usable space. A smaller pet does not automatically need a tiny object, and this design is not listed as a miniature keepsake urn.

Collar urn, memory box or separate keepsake?

The collar urn is an ashes container with a lift-off lid, not a general storage box with confirmed compartments for tags, photographs or fur. The visible collar is the intended additional keepsake. If you need a place for several small belongings, keep that requirement separate rather than assuming they can all go inside the urn. You can display a photograph beside the piece without placing it within the ashes space. Decide what you want to see every day and what you would prefer to keep privately.

An indoor place for a familiar object

Display the urn indoors on a firm, level surface. Support it with both hands beneath the base when moving it; do not lift it by the collar, portrait or lid. The gallery collar is an example, so plan around the collar you already have rather than expecting a new one to arrive. A quiet shelf can hold the memorial without needing to recreate the whole photographed scene. Frames, flowers and other styling objects are not part of the choice of urn.
