French Bulldog Urn for Ashes

Updated November 2026.

A French Bulldog urn from White Doe can be a cast-stone portrait of your own dog, guided by your photographs rather than a fixed breed figure. Choose a seated portrait, a head portrait or an urn that displays their own collar, then confirm the size for the ashes you are keeping.

What size urn for a French Bulldog?

The PDSA breed guide gives an adult weight reference of 11–12.5 kg. Applied to our published bands, the starting point is Small–Medium, up to 15 kg. Use your own dog's usual weight rather than the breed average. Your crematorium can tell you the actual volume; that is more useful than an estimate when confirming capacity.

Our bands describe pet weight, not the volume measured inside the urn. Outer height and width do not establish capacity either. If keeping only a portion of the ashes, explain that when checking the size instead of assuming the whole-dog band is necessary. Keep the volume and your preferred portrait style as two separate parts of the choice.

Bat ears, wrinkles and the short muzzle

Start with a face-on photograph in which both ears are fully visible. A close crop that cuts off the ear tips loses one of the most recognisable parts of a Frenchie. Add a side view showing the forehead, nose and chin together; a photograph taken from above can make that short profile difficult to judge. If one ear folded differently, point it out rather than choosing a tidier photograph that hides it.

Choosing between a Frenchie example and your own dog

The seated French Bulldog in the gallery is an example, not a fixed portrait that every buyer receives. Compare the width of the cheeks, the spacing of the ears and the expression with your own photographs. A pied patch may help identify a reference photo, but the chalk off-white finish is not a promise of a painted coat. Describe the shape you recognise rather than expecting the gallery dog with a different name.

Keeping a collar or adding a name

The collar urn needs the collar's fastened circumference and strap width, not just a guess from the breed. The collar in the photograph is an example, not an included accessory. For a name on the urn itself, compare the canopic jar urn: it has a black finish, antique-gold details and a name panel. Its portrait lid rests on the jar without a seal.

For the seated portrait, supply one to five clear photographs and identify the expression or feature that matters most. A digital proof comes before making. Check the proof against the main reference rather than asking whether it resembles an ideal breed example. Keep the finished portrait urn on a stable indoor surface and support it underneath with both hands when moving it.

Compare the wider dog urn guide, read how to choose a pet urn, or browse custom pet urns. The urn size calculator offers a starting estimate, not confirmation of internal capacity.

Frequently asked questions

Will my urn be the Frenchie shown in the photograph?

No. The gallery French Bulldog is an example; your photographs guide your own portrait.

What size urn should I choose for my French Bulldog?

Small–Medium, up to 15 kg. This is a guide, not a measured internal capacity; confirm the volume of ashes before ordering.

Does the portrait urn have a name panel?

The seated portrait is personalised through the likeness. The canopic jar alternative has a name panel on the front.

Can I keep their own collar with the portrait?

The collar urn is designed for this. Supply the collar’s fastened circumference and strap width; gallery collars are display examples, not supplied accessories.

Can the portrait urn stay outside?

The seated and head portrait urns are for indoor display. The canopic jar can be placed indoors or in a sheltered outdoor position.
