Choose the piece before the photo
Decide whether you want an urn, a memorial stone or a bust, then check what that listing can personalise. A photo that works on one piece may not suit another. If the listing does not say, ask before you order.
Choose a photo that shows the face
The most useful photo shows the eyes, nose, ears and markings clearly. Daylight and a plain background help, and the original file is better than a screenshot. If you have several, pick the one that looks most like your pet at rest rather than the most dramatic pose.
Keep the whole face in the frame
Do not crop the ears or muzzle too tightly, and avoid heavy filters that change the markings. If the only photo you have is old, soft or damaged, send it as it is and ask what can be used.
