Questions people ask

What plants grow well in a head planter?

Trailing plants such as string of pearls or ivy make long hair, ferns make soft curls, and succulents or grasses make short spiky styles. Match the plant to the light where the planter will live; our plant guide sorts them by look and light.

Do head planters need drainage?

Plants are happiest with a way for water to escape. Check the product page for drainage, and if there is none, use a plastic nursery pot inside and tip out any standing water.

Can a disco ball planter go outside?

Mirror ball pieces are happiest under cover. Our disco planter guides explain where they catch the light best indoors and in sheltered outdoor spots.

Can I use your photos or link to these ideas?

Yes, link to any page. If you would like to use one of our photos on a blog, please credit Ripleys Nest with a link back to the page it came from.
