These terms apply when you use ripleysnest.co.uk or buy from us. The seller is Ripleys Nest LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under number OC457597. Using the shop

You must not misuse the site, interfere with its security, introduce malicious code, infringe another person's rights or use the service for an unlawful purpose. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, the business or the service.

Products and information

We describe products as accurately as we reasonably can. Handmade and personalised pieces may have the variations explained on the relevant product page. Screens can also display colour differently. Product-specific materials, dimensions, contents, care and suitability are those stated on the current product page. Please contact us before ordering if a particular feature is essential.

Orders and the contract

Your checkout submission is an offer to buy. An automated acknowledgement confirms receipt but does not by itself mean we have accepted the order. The contract is formed when we accept the order and begin processing it or dispatch it. We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance where, for example, payment is not authorised, the product is unavailable, essential personalised information is missing, a price or description contains an obvious error, or the order appears fraudulent. If we cancel after taking payment, we refund the amount due.

Prices and payment

The price, included taxes, delivery charge and final total are shown before payment. UK delivery is currently free unless the checkout clearly states otherwise for a particular service. International charges are shown at checkout. A destination country may separately collect import duties, taxes or handling fees where these are not included in the checkout total.

Personalised orders

You are responsible for checking names, wording, images and instructions before submitting them. We may contact you where information is unclear. You confirm that you are allowed to provide the content and that our use of it to fulfil the order will not infringe another person's rights. Supplying content for an order does not give us permission to publish an identifiable photo, likeness or commissioned design for marketing.

Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised do not normally carry the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right. Our detailed Refund Policy explains when work is treated as started and the position for standard items. Statutory rights still apply if any item, including a personalised item, is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Delivery

Making time and any item-specific timing are shown on the product page or agreed with you. Delivery services and available estimates are shown at checkout or in dispatch information. Unless a different period is agreed, goods will be delivered within 30 days. Please provide a complete delivery address and contact us promptly if it needs correcting. Risk passes to a consumer when the goods come into the physical possession of the consumer or a person identified by them, except where the consumer independently commissions a carrier not offered by us.

Cancellation, returns and refunds

Our Refund Policy explains the 14-day cancellation right for most standard goods, the further return period, return costs, refund timing, personalised-item exception and how to send a cancellation notice. It forms part of these terms. Our Shipping Policy explains current delivery arrangements. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods

Consumer goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Contact us with the order number and useful photos if there is a problem. We will explain the appropriate repair, replacement, price reduction or refund route. Where a return is required because an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you will not be charged the reasonable return cost.

Gift cards and promotions

Gift cards, discount codes and promotions are subject to the conditions shown with them. A promotion does not change statutory rights. We may refuse a code that is expired, not applicable to the order or used contrary to its stated conditions.

Intellectual property

The site's text, artwork, branding, photography and designs belong to us or are used with permission. You may use the site for personal shopping but may not copy or commercially exploit protected content without permission. You retain rights in content you submit, while granting us the limited permission needed to make and support your order.

Our responsibility

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for reasonably foreseeable loss caused by our breach. We are not responsible for business losses arising from a consumer purchase or for loss caused by information or instructions supplied inaccurately by you.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Optional cookies and similar technologies are controlled through the site's privacy choices.

Changes and availability

We may update the site, products and these terms. The terms applying to an order are those in force when the contract is made, unless a change is required by law or agreed with you. We do not guarantee uninterrupted website availability.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you keep any mandatory protection and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under consumer law. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a problem. We do not currently state that we subscribe to a particular alternative dispute-resolution provider.
